Job summary

Staffing Science is seeking a Founding Security Engineer to stand up security from the ground up for a Series B dev infrastructure company. You’ll be employee #1 in security, shaping the security posture of a fast-growing product trusted by demanding engineering teams.

You’ll own detection, response, and supply-chain security, integrating SAST/SCA into developer workflows while hardening AWS and Cloudflare. This role is remote for US-based candidates and requires hands-on, builder mindset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on security engineering in software or cloud-native contexts.
• Ability to code or script; not just passively review findings.
• Hands-on IaC experience, especially Terraform, with secure CI/CD integration.
• Strong knowledge of AWS security and Cloudflare services.
• Experience with SBOMs, dependency risk, and software supply chain security.

Responsibilities

• Build detection and response from scratch for the org.
• Hardening AWS and Cloudflare configurations in production.
• Embed security tooling into CI/CD pipelines (SAST/SCA).
• Secure software supply chain end-to-end.
• Engage with enterprise customers as the security voice.
