Haptica Robotics is seeking a Robot Learning Engineer to own the entire function in-house. You will create training pipelines, stress-test sensors, determine data to collect, and evaluate policies on a Franka FR3 setup. You’ll have autonomy to push the boundaries while leveraging existing groundwork.

Responsibilities include building data collection and training pipelines, training imitation learning policies with tactile data, and guiding hardware decisions and collaboration with customers.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in robotics, CS, EE or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Extensive experience in production-level software and ML engineering best practices.
• Experience with modern deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to simplify complex topics.
• Knowledge of imitation learning (diffusion policy, ACT or similar) end-to-end.
• Comfort with hardware, sensors, calibration, and time synchronization.

Responsabilités

• Build the data collection, training and inference pipeline on off-the-shelf hardware integrated with Haptica.
• Train imitation learning policies (ACT, diffusion policy) with tactile data on touch-relevant tasks.
• Define evaluation metrics and benchmark tasks to quantify data impact.
• Extend data collection from teleop to egocentric glove data and test retargeting between hand modalities.
• Influence hardware decisions related to sampling rate, resolution, synchronization, drift and calibration.
• Stay at the cutting edge of robot learning and help integrate Haptica into customers’ data collection and teleoperation setups.
• Share findings via demo videos, writeups, and papers with academic collaborators.
