Job summary

Clera is an early-stage AI company hiring its first dedicated product designer to shape operator experiences with AI agents. You will own product flows from concept to production, partnering with leadership and engineers to establish scalable design patterns.

You will lead interfaces that simplify complex workflows, build reusable components, and create a design system to accelerate shipping and quality. Collaboration with customers and backend teams is essential to deliver impactful UI.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing and shipping product experiences at startups or equivalent
• Portfolio showing contemporary UI/UX work with products you helped ship
• Ability to explain business logic behind design decisions
• Strong visual and interaction design judgment, systems thinking
• Frontend experience with production React and TypeScript

About the Role

Join an early-stage AI company as its first dedicated product design hire, partnering with company leadership and engineers to shape how operators work with AI agents. You will own product experiences from initial user flows through polished interfaces, helping establish the design patterns the team builds on.

What You'll Do

Take product ideas from sketches through production, owning user flows and frontend implementation.

Design interfaces that simplify complex workflows and help users understand what to do next.

Explore interaction patterns that make AI agents understandable, useful, and trustworthy.

Build reusable components and design systems that improve product quality and shipping speed.

Work directly with customers, test prototypes, and refine the product based on feedback.

Partner with backend engineers to bring designs into production.

What We're Looking For

At least 4 years designing and building products at fast-growing startups, or exceptional early-career work demonstrating strong product taste and ability to ship.

A portfolio or personal website featuring contemporary UI/UX work, including products you personally helped take from concept to production.

Experience owning product design decisions and user flows, with the ability to explain the business logic behind them.

Strong visual and interaction design judgment, systems thinking, initiative, and comfort iterating quickly as priorities evolve.

Frontend experience building product interfaces, including production React and TypeScript, and the ability to independently ship frontend work.

Experience working with customers and incorporating their feedback; B2B, operational, workflow, dashboard, or AI/agent product experience is relevant.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $160,000 to $220,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
