Job description

Founding Product Designer

New York City (Union Square). In-person. $170,000 to $220,000 plus meaningful equity.

What We Do

Voiceops is the agentic sales coach for consumer-facing phone teams. We turn millions of customer conversations into a live model of rep and team performance, then use it to power AI that coaches every rep, guides every manager, and continuously improves how the team sells and retains customers.

$12M raised. Seed-stage company. Customers include large enterprises like Hard Rock Hotels and Kin Insurance.

The Design Problem

A single Voiceops customer can have hundreds of reps, millions of calls, and constantly changing products, markets, and regulations. We have to identify what drives performance, distill that complexity into a few clear actions, and make the team better without becoming another system the customer has to manage. As Voiceops earns trust, it should take on more of the work, meet users in the tools they already use, and know when the right experience is chat, a dashboard, or no interface at all. In short, the system needs to be as simple as possible, as complex as necessary.

  • Turn millions of calls into the few things each person needs to know or do. You will decide what to surface, how to make it immediately understandable, how much evidence to show, and what the product should help the user do next.

  • Make one coherent product work for the entire organization. You will define the concepts and journeys that make complex data, changing organizations, and a growing set of features feel like one simple system to reps, managers, and leaders.

  • Decide when Voiceops should show, ask, coach, or act. You will determine which moments need a screen, conversation, voice experience, integration, or automation, and design how Voiceops earns the trust to take on more work.

Why This Role Exists

Customer pull is strong. We’re seeing massive growth in usage, customers are pushing our features beyond what we designed them for, and requests for new capabilities come in nearly every day. Coming off a fresh fundraise this spring, we hired a CTO and engineers in New York to build faster and meet that demand.

Great design is now one of our biggest constraints on revenue growth. This hire has two jobs: turn customer demand into clear design decisions that keep engineers moving, and keep Voiceops simple and coherent as the system becomes more capable. Most software in our category takes months to implement and becomes another job for the user. Our most agentic features reduce work instead, and their usage is growing fastest. We believe simplicity is a massive competitive advantage.

Until now, our CEO has done most of the product design. You will be our first full-time designer, working directly with the CEO, CTO, engineers, and VP of Customer Engineering. You will own product design from concept through production. We have 30 to 50 customer and prospect meetings every week, so you will have plenty of access to users and a fast loop between an idea, shipping it, and seeing whether it worked.

About You

You have 5+ years of product design experience and have shipped production software used by customers. Show us something hard: what the user needed, what you designed, where it broke, and how you changed it. We care less about polished screens than how you think and what happened after people used them.

You are especially strong at product and systems design. You can understand complicated workflows, data models, roles, permissions, AI behavior, and technical constraints, then find the simple experience underneath. You also care deeply about visual craft and can turn a strong product idea into polished production software.

  • You are nice, smart, hungry, and flexible, like everyone we hire.

  • You want direct customer contact. You insist on talking with customers daily, watching people use what you design, and understanding what they are trying to accomplish beneath what they explicitly ask for.

  • You are extremely organized and have exceptional attention to detail. You can hold a constant stream of decisions, feedback, and signals together and carry the work through with extraordinary quality without needing someone else to manage the process.

  • You prototype and iterate quickly. You use Figma, code, AI, or whatever gets an idea in front of users fastest, and you are willing to discard work when the user proves you wrong. You are probably iterating several times a day.

  • You understand how modern AI products work. You have opinions about agents, chat, memory, voice, and automation, including where those patterns help and where they do not.

  • You do not need a clean spec to start. You can move from a customer problem to a clear product direction, work closely with engineers, and own the design through production.

Experience with enterprise or B2B software, complex data products, AI-native products, systems that serve multiple roles, or early-stage companies is especially relevant.
