Job summary

Submittd Talent is seeking a Founding Principal Engineer for a Series B healthtech startup focused on paediatric mental health. This hands-on IC role reports directly to the CEO and defines the technical foundation across telehealth, EHR, and AI.

You will own end-to-end systems, set coding standards with offshore teams, and decide what to build or buy. Requires 6–15 years as a staff or principal engineer, startup founder experience, and production TS stack (TypeScript/React/Node.js) on AWS.

Qualifications

• 6–15 years of full-stack engineering experience at Staff or Principal level.
• Early-stage founder or very first engineers at a venture-backed startup.
• Production full-stack TypeScript with ownership across frontend and backend.
• Experience in regulated environments like healthcare (HIPAA) or fintech.
• Interest in healthcare challenges and AI adoption in products.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture across telehealth, the EHR, patient dashboard and AI integrations.
• Turn clinical and operational needs into technical plans with product decisions.
• Set standards for code review and quality with offshore engineering teams.
• Define what to build, what to buy, and drive AI adoption across the product.
