Job summary

Nscale is hiring a Senior Staff Security Engineer as a founding member of the Platform Security program. You will dive into how our IaaS platform is built, perform security reviews, and provide assurance evidence to leadership and customers.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in security engineering, platform/infrastructure engineering, or security architecture.
• Experience at a cloud services provider—secure or assess IaaS where the platform was the product and tenants were untrusted by default.
• Deep knowledge of multi-tenant isolation across bare metal, hypervisors, containers, and network segmentation.
• Hands-on knowledge of GPU or accelerator infrastructure: passthrough, firmware, and BMC management.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container internals, including runtimes, namespaces, and workload identity.

Responsibilities

• Platform security reviews: deep-dive reviews, architecture, threat models, findings, and remediation plans.
• GPU compute platform: review bare-metal and virtualized stack, provisioning, GPU passthrough/partitioning, and tenant isolation.
• Storage security: encryption at rest and in transit, key management, and data lifecycle across snapshots and backups.
• Virtual networking: assess overlay/underlay, tenant segmentation, and management-plane separation.
• Kubernetes and Slurm: review multi-tenant control, identity, hardening, and isolation boundaries.
• Engineering partnership: collaborate with platform, SRE, and infra teams to land fixes and enforce secure-by-default patterns.
• KPIs: track assurance, tenant isolation evidence, and enforcement trends.
