Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Valid CT teaching certification, or eligibility to obtain through reciprocity.
• 2–3 years of successful teaching experience with student achievement.
• Ability to build a safe, structured classroom where scholars feel supported, known, and engaged.
• Commitment to ECS’s and ECPA’s mission and values.
• Experience differentiating instruction for diverse learners, including multilingual learners and students with IEPs.

Responsibilities

• Plan standards-aligned math lessons to build understanding, fluency, and reasoning.
• Deliver high-quality instruction for core math skills.
• Build a safe classroom where students take intellectual risks.
• Incorporate culturally relevant practices to connect math to students’ lives.
• Use data to differentiate instruction and monitor progress.
• Lead a homeroom/advisory and support social-emotional development.
• Collaborate weekly in professional learning and department work.
• Support school routines and contribute to school culture.
