Job summary

Kindling Academy in Austin, Texas, is seeking an exceptional Founding Montessori Lead Guide to join the founding team.

In our first year, a small mixed-age classroom for ages 4–8 will be led by you, supported by an assistant, with a focus on calm, beautiful learning environments and individualized lessons. This role blends Montessori foundations with project-based learning and outdoor education.

Qualifications

• At least three years of teaching experience.
• Montessori training or substantial Montessori classroom experience.
• Strong judgment and classroom-management skills.
• Experience supporting individualized learning.
• Warmth, patience, initiative, and emotional intelligence.
• Strong communication and family-engagement skills.
• Ability to collaborate closely with an assistant and founding team.
• Comfort working in an evolving, founding-stage environment.
• Ability to work in person in Austin, Texas.
• Experience with mixed-age classrooms, project-based learning, progressive education, or learner-centered environments is highly valued.

Founding Montessori Lead Guide

Kindling Academy is seeking an exceptional Montessori educator to join our founding team in Austin.

Our first year will include one intentionally small, mixed-age classroom for children ages 4–8, supported by a Lead Guide and an assistant.

As our Founding Lead Guide, you’ll create a calm, beautiful learning environment, provide individualized lessons, build meaningful relationships with families, and help shape the culture and systems of a new school.

Our approach blends Montessori foundations with project-based learning, creative exploration, and outdoor education. This is an opportunity for an experienced educator to have meaningful ownership, contribute ideas, and help build something special from the beginning.

Location: Austin, TexasCompensation: $80,000 + benefits
