ByTeams is reimagining how engineering teams operate by replacing the traditional TPM (technical program manager) function with an always-on AI teammate. Our AI agents help teams coordinate work, eliminate status meetings, and gain real-time visibility into engineering progress — without pulling developers away from their work.

We’ve already partnered with engineering orgs at fast-growing startups and large enterprises, and are backed by top investors from both Silicon Valley and Seoul.

We’re now looking for a Founding Lead Engineer to help scale our system, deepen our technical edge, and mentor the next generation of engineers on the team. You’ll play a key role in shaping how we build — and what we build — as we scale from early traction to market dominance.

What You’ll Do

• Lead technical design and execution of key components in our AI infrastructure and coordination layer
• Drive architectural decisions that balance rapid iteration with long-term scalability
• Build systems that ingest and synthesize engineering signals across tools like Slack, GitHub, Jira, and Notion
• Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, pragmatism, and product-mindedness
• Collaborate closely with the founders on product direction, hiring, and early GTM partnerships

You Might Be a Fit If You

• Have 4+ years of experience as a hands-on engineer with increasing levels of technical leadership
• Have shipped production systems involving AI agents, backend orchestration, or multi-modal interfaces
• Are comfortable diving into infra, architecture, and user-facing features as needed
• Understand cloud-native systems and security, and have deployed at scale
• Thrive in environments with ambiguity, autonomy, and a need for high velocity
• Are excited to help grow a team, influence culture, and shape product strategy
• Can be onsite in Palo Alto most days of the week

Bonus Points

• Experience mentoring or managing engineers in a fast-paced environment
• Background in devtools, AI infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS
• Deep interest in human–AI collaboration and LLM-native workflows
