Job summary

Maybell Quantum Industries is seeking a hands-on IT & Security Lead to own and build our security program across three sites. You will shape architecture, enforce controls, and manage incident response while also providing day-to-day IT support to a growing hardware organization.

You’ll partner with Operations, Engineering, Trade Compliance, and leadership to protect export-controlled data and maintain secure lab and manufacturing environments. This is a founding security role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT or security with progressive ownership.
• Practical security ownership—patching, access reviews, and at least one real incident end to end.
• Deep, current Microsoft 365 and Entra ID security expertise: conditional access, Intune, and Defender.
• Experience supporting a physical operating environment—manufacturing, labs, or hardware engineering.
• Willingness to handle IT troubleshooting and end-user support when needed.
• Comfort saying no to local admin, unmanaged devices, and shadow SaaS.
• Exposure to regulated data handling—export controls, GDPR, or similar is a strong plus.
• Multi-site or international support experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and mature Maybell's security baseline across all sites: endpoint protection, patch and vulnerability management, logging, backup and recovery, and access reviews.
• Set the security architecture and technical standards for how our environment is built, and enforce them in practice.
• Prepare and maintain security posture documentation for customers, insurers, and investors.
• Run security awareness training and phishing simulations to foster a reporting culture.
• Own physical site access security—badging, access control, and restricted-area procedures across all sites.
• Track and report security metrics to prioritize improvements.
