Job summary

Rork is seeking infrastructure engineers to build and scale the infrastructure powering its apps. You will enable faster deployments, cheaper containers, and more robust proxies across US and Europe.

We value hands-on experience with databases, proxies, caches, queues, and orchestration systems, and a passion for finding faster, cheaper solutions. The role is high-paced in a small, technically oriented team.

Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Ability to optimize costs and performance for cloud-based systems.
• Familiar with multiple databases, proxies, queues and orchestration systems.

• Design and scale infrastructure for Rork applications.
• Improve deployment speed and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the team to reduce costs and optimize runtime.
• Evaluate and adopt technologies like Cloudflare, Bun, Deno, Neon, ClickHouse.

Location: San Francisco, US / Remote, US + Europe

Infrastructure engineers help build and scale the infrastructure supporting Rork and its apps. They'll be able to make deployments and jobs 10x faster, containers 10x cheaper, and millions of proxies more robust.

At Rork, we are pursuing full verticalization — going to the lowest levels of frameworks, databases, simulators, and dev environments to provide smoothest and fastest experience for future founders.

You will be a great fit if…

• You like working with many databases, proxies, caches, task queues, and orchestration systems
• You can find crazy ways to make things faster and cheaper, like running Expo dev server on Deno to make it consume only for CPU time.
• You work 10+ hours a day, 6+ days a week
• You love and inspired by Cloudflare, Bun, Deno, Neon, Clickhouse
• You have interest in building an infra for RL model training

Our mission is to solve millions of problems people meet every day. This is the first time in history where AI coding enables users to ship apps that solve their own problems. Rork is doing for utilities what YouTube did to TV.

Mobile is uniquely suited for this mission — it's the only platform that retains users well and is an incredible piece of hardware capable of everything. However, building apps has historically been very expensive and difficult, leaving countless problems unsolved.

We are a tiny 5 person team that ships fast. The founders (Daniel & Levan) are both generalists, technical, and full-stack.

The interview process has three stages:

• The first is a vibe call where we'll discuss your past projects and talk about coding.
• The second interview is more technical and longer — it may include live coding.
• The third stage is a paid work trial, which we prefer to make in-person — we'll cover all travel costs or fly to you if possible. It takes 2 weeks, but we can make faster decisions if we determine it's not the right fit. If this is not possible, we’ll do an online trial period.
