Get Hired. Work From Anywhere. is seeking a Founding Head of AI Engineering to lead design and implementation of next-generation AI systems in the San Francisco Bay Area, with openness to remote for exceptional candidates.

You will own architecture, orchestration, and innovation at the intersection of prompting, memory, and retrieval-augmented generation, building systems that are natural, coherent, and impactful, and shaping product direction from day one.

Qualifications

• Have shipped LLM-powered, multi-agent, or RAG-based systems into production.
• Understand prompt engineering deeply and know where its limits are.
• Experience evaluating and fine-tuning LLMs for coherence, responsiveness, and emotional tone.
• Care about identity, continuity, and trust in human-AI interactions.
• Thrive in fast-paced, early-stage environments with high ownership.

Responsibilities

• Build orchestration layers for multi-agent systems, memory, and context-switching.
• Develop RAG pipelines grounding interactions in facts, knowledge, and style.
• Design prompting and evaluation systems tuned for responsiveness, consistency, and personality.
• Create tooling for prompt versioning, testing, and observability.
