Job summary

Ponder is a video editor platform for creators, filmmakers and marketers that helps turn raw footage into finished videos, using AI and human taste. It works with major editors like Premiere, DaVinci, Final Cut and CapCut.

We are hiring one person to own growth—own net new revenue each week, run tests, and report what works. This is a hands-on, revenue-focused role based in our Flatiron office in Manhattan.

Qualifications

• Receipts: a number moved, from what to what, and what you did to move it.
• You've run paid and creator campaigns with your own hands in the ad accounts.
• You pull your own numbers, and you can tell a channel that grows the business from one that only takes credit for it.
• You write well: hooks, landing pages, emails.
• You'd rather do the work than manage someone doing it, at least for now.

Responsibilities

• Run the channels that work and find the next one: creators and UGC, paid social and search, SEO and AI search, referrals, partnerships.
• Turn our videos into signups. That includes the Head of Content's work and the founder videos Tim and I make.
• Work with our engineers on the path from download to first edit to paid.
• Know what each paying customer costs by channel, and cut what doesn't pay back.
• Build the systems, AI agents included, that let one person do a team's work.

Job description

Hi, Timothy here, co-founder of Ponder. Ponder helps creators, filmmakers and marketers turn video ideas into finished videos as fast as possible, starting from raw footage and finding the story in it. It's built to hold up for people who make videos for a living, and it works with all the major editors: Premiere, DaVinci, Final Cut and CapCut.

Anyone can download Ponder and start editing, and people who edit for a living pay for it. My co-founder and I have run growth ourselves so far. We're hiring one person to own it.

The job

You'd own one number: net new revenue each week. You decide where the time and money go and run the tests yourself, then tell us what's working and what isn't.

What you'll do

Details

• Full time, in person at our office in Flatiron, Manhattan.
• $125K-$175K base depending on experience, plus founding-team equity.

About Ponder

Ponder is your junior editor, and the work stays yours.

There are a lot of AI video tools now, and most of what comes out of them is slop. We want Ponder to be the one people with real taste use.

Who we are

Tim Tan and I are filmmakers who learned to build software. I went to NYU film school and started a production company at 19. By 22 I'd built and sold a virtual production studio, then went to NYU ITP to work on AI for creative tools. Tim studied computer science at Georgia Tech and was the most popular college vlogger on YouTube while he was there. He turned down Amazon to work at YC startups.

The rest of the team is engineers from Vercel, Amazon and YC startups, an exited founder, a designer and a filmmaker, all in one office in Flatiron. Everyone here makes things.
