Job summary

Valley Health System in Paramus, NJ, affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, seeks a Founding Gastroenterology Fellowship Program Director to architect and lead the development of a new GI fellowship.

The director will design curricula, oversee accreditation, recruit and mentor fellows and faculty, and collaborate with DIO, GME, and external partners to ensure academic excellence, clinical rigor, and innovation.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with GI board certification required.
• Active medical licensure in NJ or eligibility.
• Administrative leadership experience in an ACGME setting required.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical GI experience.
• Minimum 3 years as faculty in ACGME-accredited residency/fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and lead the new GI fellowship program.
• Lead ACGME accreditation efforts and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Develop a rigorous curriculum aligning with accreditation standards.
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate fellows and faculty.
• Collaborate with leadership and external partners to advance program goals.
• Promote academic excellence, innovation, and patient-centered care.
