Job summary

Adventist Health Hanford seeks a Program Director to lead its Gastroenterology Fellowship Program in Tulare, California. This physician leader will mentor fellows, develop a premier curriculum, and advance academic excellence while maintaining an active GI clinical practice.

The role offers a high-volume GI environment, with opportunities in advanced procedures and collaboration across a mission-driven system, including education leadership and program oversight.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Gastroenterology.
• Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship Program.
• Must hold or be eligible for an unrestricted California medical license.
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience in Gastroenterology.
• Demonstrated clinical excellence and ongoing clinical activity.

Responsibilities

• Champion the mission, vision, and goals of the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program and sponsoring institution.
• Ensure compliance with ACGME requirements and maintain full accreditation status.
• Develop and oversee a comprehensive fellowship curriculum for clinical care, procedures, scholarship, and board prep.
• Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and retain high-performing fellows with professionalism and patient-centered care.
• Provide leadership and professional development for faculty involved in fellow education.
• Foster an inclusive learning environment with confidential feedback.
• Oversee program operations, resources, and budget while ensuring compliance.
• Promote scholarly activity, research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
• Build relationships with academic and community partners to enhance opportunities.
• Serve as a leader and advocate for graduate medical education within Adventist Health Tulare and the community.
