Clera is seeking a founding engineer to own architecture and ship features across four integrated SaaS products for health system governance. You will collaborate with the founding team on data models, enterprise infra, and AI-driven workflows, shaping the product from day one.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years building production SaaS, strong TS/React/Node.js skills, and experience with SSO/SAML, RBAC, and HRIS integrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production SaaS products.
• Strong full-stack development skills: TypeScript, React, and server-side JavaScript (Node.js).
• Experience designing backend systems for multi-tenant or multi-unit, workflow-heavy applications.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise authentication (SSO/SAML), RBAC, audit logging, and HRIS integration.
• Experience building AI-powered workflows for document generation, evidence organization, or large-dataset retrieval.
• Proven ability to own both architecture and implementation in an early-stage, fast-moving environment.
• Ability to engage directly with non-technical domain experts and customers, and translate feedback quickly into product.
• Clear written and verbal communicator who collaborates well across functions.

About the Role

This is a founding engineering role at an early-stage healthtech SaaS company building the system of record for nursing excellence. The platform helps large health systems improve nurse retention and patient outcomes by centralizing professional governance, digital clinical ladder programs, clinical inquiry (EBP, QI, Research), and ANCC designation management — replacing fragmented spreadsheets and shared drives with a unified, enterprise-grade product.

You’ll be the first or among the first engineers, working directly with the founding team to own architecture, set standards, and ship production features across four integrated products. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role in a massive and underserved healthcare vertical.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of experience building production SaaS products

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $135,000 – $155,000 USD annually
