Job summary

Morgan & Morgan is launching a Probate & Estate Administration practice in Florida. We seek an experienced probate attorney to lay the foundation for a full team. The role offers entrepreneurial growth, with the potential to build and scale the practice across Florida offices.

You will handle intestate estates, file probate documents, guide families, and coordinate with paralegals to manage a growing caseload. Florida Bar membership and expertise in probate are required.

Qualifications

• Florida Bar member and substantial probate/estate administration experience.
• Deep command of Florida Probate Code, statutes, timelines and courts.
• Process-oriented and highly organized with high-volume docket management.
• Entrepreneurial mindset to help shape a new practice area.
• Strong communicator with grieving families and internal stakeholders.
• Experience in contested probate matters (will contests, heirship disputes, creditor claims).
• Sole practitioners and small-firm attorneys are welcome to apply with per-case fee structure.

Responsibilities

• Open and administer intestate estates in Florida probate court for heirs entitled to settlement proceeds.
• Prepare and file all necessary probate documents: petitions for administration, letters of administration, inventories, notices to creditors, final accountings.
• Serve as primary legal contact for families, guiding them through the process with clarity and compassion.
• Coordinate with internal team; paralegals handle admin tasks while attorney focuses on strategy and filings.
• Manage a high-volume docket from initiation through estate funding and closure.
• Handle a mix of uncontested and contested matters, with contingency counsel for complex disputes.
• Help establish firm-wide probate processes that can scale as the practice grows.
