Job description

About Hyphenate

Every company runs on finance, and finance still runs on people, spreadsheets and month-end fire drills. The most strategic team in the business spends most of its time producing numbers instead of acting on them. Hyphenate is making finance run itself.

We build AI agents that do the work of an entire finance team, from billing and collections to closing the books and reporting to the board. They sit on top of the systems a company already runs, with no rules to write and no prompts to engineer. They learn how each team works, *escalate only the decisions that need a human*, and get better with every one. We believe every finance team will run this way within the decade, and we’re building the platform they’ll run on.

It’s already happening. HiBid runs its entire revenue process on Hyphenate across $2.5B+ in transactions. Kiteworks runs 98% of its cash transactions with zero errors and no human touch; the rest get escalated. We’ve grown 86x year over year, been covered in TechCrunch, Forbes and Business Insider, and are about to announce a massive Series A.

Former Microsoft executives Ram Krishnamurthy and Ajay Krishna Amudan founded Hyphenate in 2023, and we’re headquartered in New York. We’re backed by Foundation Capital, Gaia Ventures and BoldCap, along with angels from OpenAI, Perplexity, Microsoft, Zuora and more.

We’re still a small team, and the people who join now will define what autonomous finance becomes.

About the Role

Events are a core part of how Hyphenate goes to market, and the calendar keeps filling up as budget and headcount grow. Right now it’s more of a calendar someone keeps than a strategic program. You’ll turn it into a program we plan and own, and measure it on the pipeline and brand it builds.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and own the events and field program: trade shows, speaking sessions, company-hosted dinners and roundtables, and client community events.

  • Plan owned events and sponsorships at least two quarters ahead, with sales on board before invites go out and a clear reason for every show we buy or skip.

  • Come up with event concepts and formats people want to attend, so that at the shows that matter, Hyphenate is the booth people remember.

  • Build partner and co-hosted programs, and start and run communities for clients and advisors, such as a Slack community.

  • Own a six-figure-plus program budget, including which shows to sponsor and when to drop one that isn’t paying off.

  • Work with sales and executive leadership on target accounts, guest lists for dinners and roundtables, and who speaks for Hyphenate at each event. Get AEs to show up prepared and follow up fast.

  • Report on event ROI, starting with revenue: meetings booked and enterprise opportunities influenced, then brand metrics such as web traffic and social growth, tracked through UTMs.

  • Run basic HubSpot campaigns and lead imports for events.

  • Partner with Hyphenate’s Content Marketing hire on content for speaking sessions and webinars.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-8+ years of experience in field, event or community marketing, ideally at a B2B SaaS or tech company.

  • You’ve built a field or events program at an early-stage company and can say how much pipeline it produced.

  • You’ve run trade-show booths of at least 20x20 and judge them on cost per meeting and ROI.

  • Experience managing a six-figure-plus budget and outside contractors or agencies.

  • Highly organized, with taste. You care what an event feels like to walk into, not only what it cost and how many people came.

  • Comfortable being measured on pipeline.

  • Calm when things go wrong on show day, and quick to adjust.

  • Executives trust you enough to come to you first, and you can get AEs, demand gen, sales and ops behind the program.

Nice to haves

  • Experience running executive dinners, roundtables or customer councils.

  • A community or recurring event series you started that kept going after you moved on.

  • You’ve marketed to a conservative, risk-averse buyer in finance, accounting, legal, compliance or similar.

  • Experience with CFO, Controller or FP&A audiences, or time at a finance-software company such as BlackLine, Trintech, FloQast, Diligent, Workiva, Numeric or Campfire.
