Job summary

Omi Health is building the leading platform for pet health data. This role is the most senior technical position, owning the technical direction and end-to-end delivery across a production stack including Python/FastAPI, Postgres, Supabase, SwiftUI iOS, React web, and AWS with Terraform.

You will define the data model, value from heterogeneous data sources, and implement LLM-driven features with robust reliability. You will drive security, privacy, and engineering culture as the team grows.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of production engineering experience.
• Ownership of backend services from end-to-end in production.
• Shipped an LLM feature and improved it measurably.
• Experience integrating external systems with resilience.
• Strong Python experience and async programming opinions.
• Architectural decisions that enable future work.
• Ability to translate vague problems into working systems.

Responsibilities

• Design the data model for unified animal health records as data volume grows.
• Deliver AI features with robust retrieval, evaluation, and CI gates.
• Handle integrations with health data sources and ensure data trust.
• Set security/privacy bar above compliance expectations and prove it.
• Help grow the engineering team and shape culture.
