GoShelby, a Bay Area relocation tech startup, seeks a founding engineer to design and build core platform features in a hybrid SF environment. You will contribute to product strategy with the founder and ship end-to-end web applications that power our managed relocation service.

You'll work across the stack, from UI/UX to databases, and establish engineering best practices while collaborating with a small team to move quickly and iteratively.

We are a tech-enabled service that manages the entire relocation process, from housing search to move-in, allowing new hires to be productive from day one.

Founding Engineer

What You'll Do

• Design and build the core technology that powers our managed relocation service.
• Develop internal tools for our Relocation Coordinators and external-facing dashboards for clients (HR) and their employees.
• Work across the full stack, from front-end UI/UX to back-end architecture and database management.
• Collaborate directly with the founder to define product strategy and the engineering roadmap.
• Establish engineering best practices, from coding standards and testing to CI/CD and infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong portfolio of web applications you've built.
• Proficiency in modern web technologies (e.g., React/Vue/Svelte, Node.js, Python/Django, etc.). We value strong fundamentals over specific framework experience.
• A product-minded approach. You care about the \"why\" behind what you're building and can contribute to product decisions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong communication skills and a desire to be part of a small, collaborative team.
• Bonus: Experience with real estate tech, B2B SaaS products, or building internal operational tools.

Compensation

• Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 USD
• Equity: Significant early-stage equity grant
