Job summary

The Cypress Group is seeking one of the first engineers to own the product end-to-end, from the tooling on one side of the marketplace to the experience the other side has when interacting with outputs. The platform already has early traction, with active users generating meaningful daily data, and there is substantial opportunity to expand and shape the product going forward.

You will take full ownership of product development—defining what gets built, how it works, and how it feels.

Job description

As one of the first engineers, you will own the product end-to-end — from the tools used by one side of the marketplace to manage workflows, to the experience the other side has when interacting with and evaluating those outputs.

The platform already has strong early traction, with active users generating significant daily data. The foundation is in place, and there is substantial opportunity to expand and shape the product going forward.

You will take full ownership of product development — defining what gets built, how it works, and how it feels. This role involves close collaboration with the founder to set priorities, design solutions, and identify future hiring needs.

Role Breakdown (Approximate)

• ~70% core product development (dashboards, workflows, UX iteration)
• ~20% internal tools and operational features
• ~10% growth-focused engineering (onboarding, activation, retention, billing)

Key Responsibilities

• Build the product layer that makes advanced technology practical and usable
• Transform complex, manual workflows into intuitive, efficient user experiences
• Develop a platform that users rely on to run critical parts of their business
• Design and improve experiences for multiple user types across the platform
• Work across a modern TypeScript/React/Node stack to ship features end-to-end
• Engage regularly with users to gather feedback and iterate quickly
• Create new product surfaces as the platform expands into additional use cases
• Contribute broadly to product direction and strategy

Requirements

• 4+ years of full-stack experience building and shipping products end-to-end
• Strong experience working in TypeScript, React, and Node.js environments
• Strong product mindset with a focus on user needs and business impact
• High attention to detail in design, usability, and interaction
• Solid programming fundamentals and experience with modern web technologies
• Experience in fast-paced, product-focused environments, ideally at early-stage companies where ambiguity is high
