Job summary

Getclera in San Francisco is seeking an electrical engineer to own 2-4 client projects from requirements to manufacturing. You will design across motor controllers, RF/antenna systems, power electronics, and high-speed interfaces, and work directly with customers to understand constraints.

You will collaborate with layout specialists, firmware engineers, and manufacturing partners, and help build internal tools to accelerate hardware design.

Qualifications

Job description

We're building an AI electrical engineer that can turn an idea into a working circuit board. That means teaching software to reason about circuits and make design decisions that hold up when the hardware is manufactured and powered on.

Our electrical and software engineers work side by side on real customer projects, from VR headsets to robotics. The challenges we solve on those boards shape the tools we're building to make hardware development faster.

You'll take full ownership of client projects and work closely with our software and ML team.

You'll get broad, hands-on EE reps across a wide mix of products: VR headsets, robotics, wearables, RF/NFC, power, and more. You'll help define what "10x faster hardware design" actually looks like in practice.

This is an in-person role in San Francisco. You must live here or relocate before starting.

What we're looking for

• 1-5 years building boards — You've shipped hardware to production and know what it takes
• Experience with PCB design tools — Kicad, Altium, Cadence, LTSpice etc
• Breadth over depth — You've touched high-speed digital, power electronics, antennas, BGA fanout, and aren't afraid of what you haven't done yet
• Process skeptic — You question how things are done and actively look for ways to make design faster, cheaper, and more reliable
• Love of making! — You hack on passion projects in your spare time

Nice to have

• Experience using generative AI technologies like LLMs or AI agents
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Devin in software development
