Raydar is seeking a Founding Software Engineer in New York to join as an early technical hire. You will shape architecture, build automation, and own major product areas alongside the founders.

You will lead backend, mobile and customer-facing work, design scalable systems, and partner with the CTO to set the roadmap. Expect startup pace, direct customer feedback, and opportunities for equity in a growing education technology company.

Qualifications

• Track record of taking software from idea to production and owning entire systems.
• Strong backend architecture and system design for multi-source data.
• Reliability mindset with uptime, monitoring and graceful failure.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply to new problems.
• High-agency approach with responsibility for outcomes, not tasks.
• Clear spoken English for daily customer calls.
• Willingness to work at startup pace with travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Build automation systems that connect with older third-party platforms and keep data in sync.
• Develop and harden a cross-platform mobile app for iOS and Android.
• Design scalable systems, infrastructure and databases with the CTO.
• Handle concurrency and asynchronous data flows across multiple data sources.
• Speak directly with customers and users, and deliver improvements based on their feedback.
• Lead whole product areas and help set their roadmap with the founders.
