Job summary

Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency in Dunwoody, GA is opening October 2026 and hiring founding daytime emergency team members. This is not entry-level; experienced veterinary professionals are needed to build a new emergency service alongside board-certified specialists.

We seek Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) and skilled Veterinary Assistants with 2+ years in Emergency/CC, nursing, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience preferred.
• Experience in Emergency, Critical Care, Specialty Medicine, Surgery, or high-volume General Practice.
• Strong foundation in veterinary nursing, patient monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Excellent client communication and teamwork required.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency triage and stabilization of critical patients.
• Support CPR and RECOVER protocols.
• Assist with emergency procedures and critical interventions.
• Prepare patients for surgery, diagnostics, and specialty consultation.
• Monitor hospitalized and ICU patients and manage pain.
• Administer medications, fluids, and blood products and maintain records.
