Job summary

Global X is seeking a founding lead for data products and platform, a senior, hands-on builder who will own how the firm defines, governs, and ships its core investment data. You will grow a small team around you and sit at the center of a federated model where every desk builds with data.

This player‑coach role requires setting product direction, writing production code, and hiring as the function expands.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data with hands-on engineering and data-product ownership.
• Experience with asset-management data domains including security, holdings, NAV, and related feeds.
• Expert SQL and Python; production experience with Snowflake and dbt.
• Ownership of a canonical data model or data standards across multiple teams.
• Track record of building and leading a small data team or readiness for founding lead role.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to defend prioritization with executives and compliance.
• ETF / 1940‑Act fund experience; familiarity with SEC reporting and related regimes.
• Experience with data catalog, orchestration, BI, and AI-assisted engineering.

Responsibilities

• Stand up the firm’s first data intake, backlog, and roadmap for data work.
• Reconcile divergent data definitions into a single canonical, documented set.
• Own the data-product lifecycle with clear ownership, SLAs, and a discoverable catalog.
• Drive adoption of the shared data layer across teams.
• Build and ship: write production dbt models and design serving/semantics layers.
• Harden the platform with data freshness alerts, secure ingestion, and least‑privilege access.
• Lead and mentor a small data team, and establish operating models as the function grows.
