Job summary

Animal Emergency Clinic - Inland Empire, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, seeks a Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist (DACVIM) to lead and shape a new Internal Medicine service within an established emergency hospital in Grand Terrace, CA. You’ll work with an experienced team and refer veterinarians while expanding specialty medicine access.

The successful candidate brings DACVIM or residency training, strong communication, and a passion for growth and collaboration in a networked practice.

Qualifications

• Veterinary doctor with eligibility for California licensure.
• Board Certification in Small Animal Internal Medicine (DACVIM) or residency path with board eligibility.
• Strong communication and client-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex internal medicine cases across GI, hepatobiliary, endocrine, infectious, hematologic and respiratory diseases.
• Order and interpret diagnostics including ultrasound, endoscopy, CT where available.
• Collaborate with emergency and other specialties; mentor staff; develop protocols.

Full-Time or Part-Time opportunity in Grand Terrace, California

As our founding Internal Medicine specialist, you'll have the autonomy to shape the service around your professional interests while benefiting from an established emergency hospital, an experienced clinical team, and the resources of Ethos Veterinary Health.

For more than 50 years, Animal Emergency Clinic has been a trusted resource for emergency veterinary care throughout the Inland Empire. You'll work alongside an experienced emergency team, develop strong relationships with referring veterinarians, and help expand access to specialty medicine for a growing community.

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Manage complex internal medicine cases spanning GI, hepatobiliary, infectious disease, endocrine, hematologic, and respiratory conditions
• Perform and/or order diagnostics such as ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, and CT as available
• Coordinate with emergency and other specialty teams on shared patients and transfers
• Develop lasting relationships with referring veterinarians throughout the Inland Empire
• Help establish clinical protocols and workflows as the Internal Medicine service grows
• Mentor technicians and assistants as part of daily case management
• Pursue opportunities for continued growth in areas such as ultrasound proficiency and advanced procedures
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning

What You Bring

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for California veterinary licensure
• Board Certification in Small Animal Internal Medicine (DACVIM) or residency trained in Small Animal Internal Medicine and board eligible
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach
