SR1 College Preparatory & STEM Academy is seeking a Chef & Director of Farm to Table Education to invent a garden-to-cafeteria pipeline, lead hands-on culinary education for scholars, and expand family programs in Canton, MS. This founding role blends design, leadership, and visible kitchen demonstrations.

The role builds a world table, a career pathway, and grant-backed growth while shaping a real food system on SR1’s grounds.

Qualifications

• Professional culinary background with leadership in a kitchen.
• Experience growing or leading a farm-to-table or food program.
• Ability to design menus, curriculum, and food programs.
• Strong on-camera presence for demonstrations and storytelling.
• Experience hiring/training kitchen or program staff.
• Food-safety credential (ServSafe or equivalent) or obtainable quickly.

Responsibilities

• Build the Farm to Table pipeline from garden bed to cafeteria tray using SR1's grounds.
• Lead culinary education for scholars with hands-on cooking and nutrition tied to standards.
• Provide culinary education for families with cooking nights and take-home recipes.
• Develop a rotating global table to introduce culinary traditions beyond Mississippi.
• Grow the initiative toward a career pathway, community meals, and grant expansion.
• Hire and lead kitchen and garden-education staff and present on camera.
