Job summary

Opportunity 180 seeks a Founding Chief Finance and Operations Officer to partner with the CEO and Board to shape long-term financial sustainability and scalable operating systems. You will steward federal grants and facility solutions while building durable controls and talent systems to advance the mission for Nevada students.

You will lead multi-year strategy, reporting, risk management, and executive-level decision culture, ensuring accountability, transparency, and impact as the organization

Qualifications

• 10+ years of leadership in finance, operations, or nonprofit management.
• 5+ years leading and developing teams and managers.
• Ownership of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, and audits.
• Experience managing complex federal grants and compliance.
• Advising a CEO and Board; translating strategy into resources and plans.
• Leading cross-functional change and sustaining nonprofit impact.
• Nonprofit accounting knowledge and GAAP familiarity.
• Proficiency with financial systems; ability to learn new platforms quickly.
• Strong analytical, communication, project management, and decision-making skills.
• Willingness to work in Southern Nevada with local travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Financial Management: lead multi-year strategy, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and reserves.
• Provide timely financial reporting to CEO and Board with strong internal controls.
• Oversee accounting, payroll, investments, procurement, insurance, taxes, audits.
• Oversee cross-entity financial controls and account separation.
• Business Operations: manage risk, contracting, technology, data security, vendor mgmt.
• Improve workflows and decision-making; manage enterprise risk and business continuity.
• Federal Grants: oversee grant strategy, compliance, reporting, subgrants, audits.
• Facility Solutions: develop partnerships for charter school financing and facilities.
• Leadership & Culture: coach staff, align compensation, and plan workforce needs.
