Job summary

Basis AI is seeking a founding brand designer to own how our brand shows up in the world. You will define a visual identity that makes Basis credible and distinctive, balancing customer and technical brands across campaigns, stories, and assets.

You’ll lead across website, launches, and recruiting, setting a unified design system and working closely with marketing, product, and sales. This is a high-ownership role in NYC.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years in brand design, visual design, or creative direction in a high-growth software/AI/tech company.
• A portfolio of complete brand systems tying complex ideas to distinctive concepts.
• Exceptional taste in typography, composition, color, hierarchy, and visual storytelling.
• Strong digital design skills and experience shipping responsive web experiences with developers.
• Experience building design systems, templates, standards, and workflows across buyers and motions.
• Strong creative judgment with ability to explain, defend, take feedback, and improve work.
• Technical curiosity and ability to learn a complex product, buyer, and market quickly.

Responsibilities

• Define and own Basis brand across website, launches, campaigns, customer stories, and recruiting. Build and ship the visual system and assets that feel like one brand.
• Set creative direction, challenge weak ideas, and collaborate with teams to ensure consistency and quality across channels.
