Toffee allows you to chat naturally with lifelike AI personalities. As a founding backend engineer, you’ll rapidly ship and iterate critical infrastructure from day one.

What You'll Do

• Develop, optimize, and scale backend APIs and real-time services using Fastify, tRPC, Socket.IO, PostgreSQL, and AWS.

• Ensure high availability and maintain P99 latency for millions of daily users.

• Build and improve infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability using Open Telemetry.

• Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and ML teams to deliver reliable and performant systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience scaling backend services (Node.JS APIs, real-time Socket.IO).
