Hinoki, an early-stage San Francisco cybersecurity startup, is hiring a Founding Engineer to build the core AI-driven vulnerability management platform. You will own distributed runtimes, from scanning workloads to provenance graphs, enabling production-grade automation for Fortune 500-like environments.

The ideal candidate ships autonomous AI agents with strong multi-step reasoning, handles complex workflows, and thrives in a fast-moving founding team.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build distributed scanning runtimes and ephemer test labs capable of reproducing and verifying thousands of published CVEs at machine speed.
• Develop a live entity graph and provenance system that maps enterprise assets across cloud providers, ticketing systems, and ownership chains for auditable decisions.
• Engineer autonomous workflow pipelines that filter thousands of raw security findings into high-confidence remediation actions with attached evidence and rollback guidance.
