Job summary

Zscaler, a leader in cloud security, seeks an Architect to build a high‑reliability AI Security plane. You will design core infrastructure and distributed services, report to Software Development Engineering, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable solutions for hundreds of millions of users.

You will optimize performance, mentor engineers, and shape the technical roadmap while working in a hybrid environment with strong emphasis on execution and impact.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Deep experience in Rust with asynchronous frameworks (Tokio/async-std).
• Experience designing horizontally scalable, highly available distributed systems.
• Strong command of Linux internals (kernel-space/user-space, networking, namespaces).
• Proficiency in performance instrumentation, containers, Git workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and optimize a low-latency, high-throughput AI Security plane using Rust and async paradigms.
• Build resilient, distributed, and scalable systems with strong concurrency and fault tolerance.
• Implement and maintain gRPC services and APIs for integration with control/orchestration infra.
• Profile performance across kernel-space and user-space to optimize LL M model stacks.
• Contribute to design reviews, documentation, and mentor junior engineers.
• Lead complex projects and drive technical roadmap across teams.
