Job summary

A Day Back is hiring a Founding Engineer / Junior AI Developer to design, build, and improve AI agents and automations that save time for service businesses. This is the company’s first technical hire and involves hands-on work with clients, integrations, and internal systems in South Jordan, Utah.

Join as a founding member, contribute to product roadmap, and work on client setups, training, and multi-tool integrations in a dynamic startup. On-site role with potential equity based on performance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience experimenting with AI coding tools and AI agents; familiarity with Grok Bot, Claw or OpenClaw is a plus.
• 1 year coding experience required; 1 year vibe coding preferred.
• Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and workflow automation; willingness to learn unfamiliar systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot production issues.
• Clear verbal and written communication; comfortable interacting with clients.
• Creativity, initiative, and follow-through from prototype to production.
• Comfort with startup environments and multiple responsibilities.
• Availability for full-time, on-site work in the South Jordan/Salt Lake City area.

Responsibilities

• Build and configure AI agents and automations to remove repetitive work for service businesses.
• Connect client software, CRMs, and tools via APIs and automation.
• Attend in-person client setups and perform client visits.
• Diagnose issues, test solutions, and ensure automations work after demos.
• Explain solutions in plain English and support client adoption through training.
• Work with CRM and internal tools to improve workflows.
• Document work and handle client data and credentials responsibly.
• Help shape the long-term product roadmap.
