Job summary

Care Hero in Boston, MA is seeking a Founding Engineer to design, build, and ship the core product alongside the founder. This zero-to-one role puts you in direct contact with customers and shapes our strategy from day one.

You’ll own end-to-end development—from backend services and APIs to frontend experiences—and you’ll integrate AI capabilities to automate care workflows. This early-stage position rewards ownership, rapid iteration, and collaboration with non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals across languages, design, and production systems.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable backend services and data pipelines.
• Hands-on AI/ML experience or data-driven product development.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Integrate AI capabilities into the product using LLMs and agentic workflows.
• Ship across the stack with ownership of product and design decisions.
• Engage with customers and translate feedback into product direction.
• Define engineering best practices and support technical hiring.
