Job summary

Marble is building an agentic operating system for physical industries, starting with multi-unit restaurant groups. We’re seeking a product-minded founding engineer who will shape the product, own the roadmap, speak with customers, and drive delivery from day one.

A founder tilt and willingness to build are highly valued. We look for strengths in backend/data systems, agent-centric tooling, and frontend work with React.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, with willingness to become productive in both.
• Experience shipping production agent-based systems and tooling.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (GCP, AWS, Azure) or similar.
• Ownership mindset and proactive collaboration.
• Product intuition and user-focused engineering.
• Solid engineering practices: tests, debugging, code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship customer-facing functionality from 0-to-1, including agent that drafts orders and manager approvals.
• Build and maintain the agent harness with context management, tool usage, and state handling.
• Develop backend APIs and integrations (POS, accounting, payroll) and data pipelines.
• Improve agent reliability by evaluations, tracing failures, and handling edge cases.
• Collaborate across backend services and React UIs to deliver complete features.
• Incorporate customer feedback to improve accuracy, usability, speed, and cost.
