Job summary

davidjoseph-co is seeking a founding engineer in New York, on-site, to own a core product domain end-to-end and ship to production daily. You will work closely with a small founding team, communicate with customers, and build multi-modal agents across voice, SMS, and email stacks.

You will contribute across the stack (TypeScript/Node.js/Next.js, Python) and help define architecture, guardrails, and evaluation tooling, with equity as part of the compensation in a high-ownership setting.

Qualifications

• 3-8 years of full-stack engineering experience.
• Track record shipping a product from zero to one in startup or new-product environment.
• Strong command of TypeScript across the stack (Node.js and React/Next.js).
• Comfortable owning product decisions without a PM and speaking directly with customers.
• Depth in production voice or SMS agents, long-running agent state, or guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Own a core product domain end-to-end and ship to production daily.
• Speak directly with customers and turn feedback into product decisions.
• Build and tune multi-modal agents for low-latency voice and reliable cross-channel interactions.
• Set architecture and quality bar for non-deterministic systems including evals and drift detection.
• Work across the full stack, from React/Next.js to Node.js services and Python pipelines.
