Job summary

K1 Investment Management is assembling a founding AI team in Manhattan Beach, CA. We seek an AI Engineer to ship real automations, build practical tools, and deliver tangible impact across 275+ portfolio companies.

You will be one of the founding members, reporting directly to a Founding Partner, with no middle management and clear ownership from day one. Expect fast pace, meaningful impact, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/DS/CS/business-related field.
• Experience in AI/ML or data science projects.
• Proficiency with Claude as a daily tool and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI automations across the firm and portfolio companies.
• Prototype AI tools and agents and iterate on real user feedback.
• Evaluate models and provide actionable recommendations.
• Build internal dashboards, data pipelines, and agentic workflows.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
