Job summary

Podium is hiring its first Director of Communications to own our external communications strategy and build a founder-led function from the ground up. This is a high-visibility, high-accountability role that requires extreme ownership and startup speed.

You’ll shape the founder’s voice, build infrastructure for content, and connect stories to strategic outcomes for customers and investors. This role centers on direct, non-traditional PR and social-first storytelling.

Qualifications

• Experience running comms, brand, or founder content at a high-growth tech, AI, or consumer company.
• Exceptional writer and storyteller who can capture and scale a founder's voice with hooks for social.
• Extreme ownership and high velocity; autonomous execution.
• Media instincts and taste; wired into modern media ecosystems.
• Sharp strategic mind to define audience beliefs and themes.
• Deep AI fluency; able to build workflows around content.
• Stay current on AI, SaaS, SMB, and Podium’s verticals before applying.

Responsibilities

• Own the external communications strategy end-to-end and define channels, cadence and outcomes.
• Develop founder thought leadership and content programs, including social and long-form essays.
• Lead AI-native workflows to scale content production with a lean team.
• Grow Eric's social presence on X and LinkedIn and expand reach.
• Secure founder content on strike-zone media and build amplification networks.
