The University of Akron School of Nursing invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing required.
• Unrestricted registered nurse licensure in Ohio or multi-state.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certification.
• Two years of teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate nursing courses (didactic, LRC, and simulation/lab).
• Focus on Foundational Medical-Surgical Nursing.
• Evaluate student performance and progress.
• Assist in managing clinical placements and expanding clinical sites.
• Serve on school, college and university committees.
• Engage in scholarly activity and community service.
• Support accreditation/licensure goals of the program.
