Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Foundations and Grants Manager for the San Diego County region. This role will oversee a grants program, identify foundation funding opportunities, and align program needs with donor interests to secure support.

You will cultivate relationships with foundation representatives, advise Corps Officers and staff, and collaborate with DHQ and the San Diego Development team to maximize grant opportunities and reporting.

Qualifications

5 years’ experience in foundation relations, grant development, fundraising, nonprofit development, or a related field.
Demonstrated success securing foundation funding and managing foundation relationships.
Strong organizational skills, and excellent writing and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented, motivated professional with clear commitment to The Salvation Army’s mission.

Responsibilities

Identify program needs and prospective foundation funders and write strong grant proposals, applications and reports.
Cultivate and steward foundation relationships and develop new funder partnerships.
Provide guidance to corps officers and staff by aligning program needs with funders.
Oversee execution of Foundations Department strategic plan with DHQ & San Diego Development.
Attend conferences, grantmaker meetings and workshops, and track revenue and outcomes.
