Job summary

Conductor Power seeks a Foundations General Foreman to lead foundation construction activities across project areas and coordinate multiple crews and Foremen. You will ensure safety, schedule, and quality per project plans, while serving as a bridge between field teams and project leadership.

This role requires extensive travel to project sites nationwide, with a focus on coordinating ground prep, trenching, pile driving, rebar, formwork, and concrete placement, all while maintaining quality and

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in civil/construction related field operations.
• 2+ years in a Foreman or leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience leading multiple crews/foremen.
• Strong knowledge of foundation construction (excavation, pile driving, rebar, formwork, concrete).

• Strong verbal/written communication; able to work with diverse teams.

Role Summary

The Foundations General Foreman provides field leadership and oversight for foundation construction activities across assigned project areas. This position is responsible for coordinating multiple crews and Foremen, maintaining production and schedule expectations, and ensuring foundation work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards. The Foundations General Foreman serves as a key connection between field crews and project leadership, proactively identifying issues, coordinating resources, and supporting Foremen in the successful execution of foundation activities.

Duties/Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Crew Oversight

• Provide daily leadership and direction to multiple foundation crews and Foremen.
• Coordinate laborers, equipment operators, and subcontractors across assigned work areas.
• Support Foremen with planning, problem-solving, and resolution of field issues.
• Establish clear daily priorities and expectations to keep crews productive and aligned with the project schedule.
• Monitor crew performance and provide direction when productivity or execution falls below expectations.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive field culture.

Foundation Construction

• Oversee foundation construction activities including:
• Ground preparation and excavation
• Trenching
• Pile driving
• Rebar placement and installation
• Formwork
• Concrete placement and pours
• Concrete finishing
• Related structural foundation activities
• Ensure construction activities are performed according to drawings, specifications, and approved work plans.
• Coordinate sequencing between crews and work areas to minimize downtime and maintain workflow.
• Verify crews have the appropriate materials, equipment, manpower, and information needed to complete assigned work.

Planning, Scheduling & Production

• Coordinate daily and short-term foundation work plans with Foremen and project leadership.
• Monitor overall production and progress against project schedule and established productivity expectations.
• Identify potential schedule impacts and proactively develop solutions with project leadership.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and work activities across multiple crews.
• Communicate material shortages, equipment issues, manpower needs, weather impacts, and other potential delays.
• Assist with planning upcoming work and ensuring crews are prepared for scheduled activities.

Drawings, Layout & Quality

• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and layout plans.
• Coordinate with Survey to verify layout, elevations, alignment, and tolerances.
• Work closely with QA/QC and Foremen to ensure work is ready for inspection and concrete placement.
• Identify and address quality concerns before they impact schedule or require rework.
• Ensure crews follow established construction methods and project specifications.
• Support documentation of daily progress, inspections, and quality-related issues as required.

Safety & Site Leadership

• Provide active safety leadership across all foundation operations.
• Participate in pre-task planning, toolbox talks, and daily safety discussions.
• Ensure Foremen and crews understand and follow company and project-specific safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions and take appropriate action to correct them.
• Reinforce proper use of PPE, equipment, tools, and safe work practices.
• Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work areas.
• Partner with Safety personnel to address concerns and promote a strong safety culture.

Communication & Coordination

• Serve as a primary field contact between Foundation Foremen and project leadership.
• Communicate daily progress, challenges, manpower requirements, equipment needs, and schedule concerns.
• Coordinate foundation activities with other project disciplines and trades.
• Participate in project meetings and planning discussions as needed.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with Superintendents, Project Managers, Safety, QA/QC, Survey, and other field leadership.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in civil construction, foundation construction, concrete, excavation, pile driving, or related field operations.
• 2+ years of experience in a Foreman or comparable field leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience leading and coordinating multiple crews and/or Foremen.
• Strong knowledge of foundation construction, including excavation, pile driving, rebar, formwork, concrete placement, and finishing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and layout plans.
• Ability to coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and multiple work activities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with project management, Superintendents, Foremen, Safety, QA/QC, Survey, subcontractors, and field personnel.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively to project sites.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and other environmental conditions.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to frequently walk across uneven, rocky, muddy, or unfinished construction surfaces.
• Ability to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in various field positions as required.
• Ability to safely navigate active construction sites and around heavy equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to work around loud equipment and machinery.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
• Ability to perform duties at heights or in excavated areas when required by the project.

Travel

• 100% travel to assigned project sites.
• Projects may be located throughout the United States.
• Must be willing to work away from home for extended project assignments.
• Travel schedule may vary based on project needs, schedule, and location.
• Must maintain reliable transportation to and from assigned project locations as required.
