Job summary

Rox is seeking a Backend Platform Engineer in San Francisco to build intelligent, agentic workflows powering the world’s top revenue teams. You’ll own the full lifecycle of AI-driven product development, from model training to integrating features in production and shipping robust, scalable systems.

You'll collaborate with engineers, designers, and customers to iterate quickly and improve intelligence and reliability of our agent swarm, designing multi-step workflows and optimizing onboarding,

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field; 5+ years of work experience; building and scaling platform systems is a plus
• Tech stack: Python, Flask, AWS
• Understanding of LLM models and/or deep understanding of services in multiple clouds is a plus
• Be located in or willing to relocate to San Francisco

Responsibilities

• High Ownership: End-to-end design and implementation of scalable systems
• Customers First: Engage with customers, join calls, ship solutions with product and AI engineers

Your Role

As a Backend Platform Engineer at Rox, you’ll be at the center of building intelligent, agentic workflows that redefine how the world’s top revenue teams operate. You’ll work across the full lifecycle of AI-driven product development, from training and evaluating models to integrating them into user-facing systems. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and customers to iterate quickly, ship impactful features, and continuously improve the intelligence and reliability of our agent swarm. You’ll be responsible for designing multi-step workflows, applying cutting-edge LLM research in production, and driving the experimentation and evaluation loop for AI-powered features, all in a fast-moving, product-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• High Ownership: Ability to do E2E design and implement scalable systems independently, define/understand requirements and write clean code
• Customers First: Engage closely with customers to understand requests, join customer calls and ship out solutions working closely with product and AI engineers
• Systems Understanding: Understanding of data storage systems (Amazon Aurora, DynamoDB, Snowflake, S3). Understanding of queuing / streaming systems (SQS, Kafka, Spark)
• Operations: Be obsessed about operations and strive to ensure that there is minimal to no downtime or impact to the customer
• Bias for action: Ability to work and ship in a fast paced environment with weekly deliverables; has founder-energy to work with as minimal direction as possible
• Be Curious: Curious to learn, work hard and have a growth mindset
