Job summary

Ilisagvik College is seeking instructors to teach 2–3 College Math courses in Fall 2026. Fall semester runs 8/18/26 to 11/26/26 with 2-credit modules for MATH 055 and MATH 060. Instructors may be on-site in Utqiaġvik, AK or deliver via synchronous means (Zoom) and via Moodle.

Foundational math classes will be scheduled in the afternoons and evenings (AKST). A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics or related field is required; a Doctorate is preferred. A background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Proven teaching experience in college mathematics.
• Comfort with distance delivery using Moodle.
• Ability to develop and update course syllabi and materials.
• Maintain attendance records and communicate with the registrar.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains updated instructional materials, course outlines, and curriculum.
• Utilizes Moodle/MyCampus LMS.
• Develops and submits current course syllabus using the college template.
• Prepares administrative documents, such as student withdrawals and attendance.
• Evaluates student performance and timely submits midterm and final grades to the registrar.
• Maintains office hours (in-person, telephonically, or online).
• Participates in professional development to stay current with technologies and learning platforms.
• Complies with College policies, procedures and administrative directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws and ordinances.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
