Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop is seeking a detail-oriented accountant to manage the Build-A-Bear Foundation's monthly financial statements, journal entries, and donations tracking. The role supports state/local filings, property tax returns, and tax compliance work with the Tax Department.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 2+ years of experience, CPA eligibility, and advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required.
• CPA eligibility and/or CPA certification preferred.
• 2+ years of related work experience.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements for the Build-A-Bear Foundation including journal entries and revenue/donation tracking.
• Prepare state and local filings related to the Foundation.
• Assist with property tax and tax compliance returns.
• Assist with federal and state income tax returns and estimates.
• Support audit inquiries and outside auditors.
• Prepare reconciliations for non-income tax accounts.
