Job summary

Herbert Simon Family Foundation is expanding its team in Indianapolis and seeks an Operations Manager who will steward governance processes, stakeholder coordination, and operational clarity across the foundation. The role connects the Executive Director, Board, staff, family members, and external advisors to ensure meaningful work moves forward with discretion and follow-through.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in foundation, nonprofit, family-office, governance, or other complex coordination roles.
• Strong project-management and stakeholder coordination capabilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office/365, Salesforce or similar CRM, and project management tools (Asana).

Responsibilities

• Oversee grantmaking process management and coordination.
• Coordinate Board meetings, agendas, materials, and decision flow.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication among Executive Director, Board, staff, and families.
• Identify gaps in workflows and implement practical improvements.
• Maintain clear boundaries and documentation across Foundation operations and related entities.
