Job summary

Institute of Foundation Models is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer in Sunnyvale to develop and implement innovative ML models addressing real-world challenges. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy scalable AI solutions and improve performance of large-scale models.

The role emphasizes participating in research, contributing to technical documentation, and supporting the institution's leadership in AI research and innovation.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years in software engineering with ML.
• Experience with ML infrastructure and NLP or CV.
• Strong problem-solving & collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Research teams to understand technologies and integrate them into codebase.
• Develop and implement systems to support lifecycle of ML models, including data preprocessing, pre-training, evaluation, and deployment for foundation models.
• Lead design reviews and decide among technologies with peers and stakeholders.
• Review code and ensure best practices, testing, and performance.
• Contribute to documentation and educational content updated for product changes.
• Triage issues and debug to maintain hardware, network, and service quality.
• Contribute to research papers and represent the institute at industry conferences.
• Perform other duties as directed by the line manager.
