Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Grants Development professional to identify grant opportunities, build relationships with foundations, and develop compelling proposals with program narratives and budgets. You will coordinate with affiliate staff and Brown University Health Development to align strategies with institutional goals.

Responsibilities include managing a portfolio of donors, drafting stewardship plans, and executing moves management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health care administration, communications or related field.
• Three years of professional experience in development, including grant writing and/or major gift cultivation and solicitation.
• Exemplary oral and written communications skills; strong computer and information management skills.
• Basic budget preparation and time management skills; solid project management and relationship management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manages a portfolio of active foundation donors and prospects, creating cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
• Participates in annual business planning and multi-year fundraising objectives for foundation funding.
• Develops foundation proposals with budgets, letters of support, and collaboration commitments.
• Provides grant development support to affiliate staff and coordinates with Brown University Health Development office.
• Creates annual stewardship plans for each foundation grant and ensures proper recording, acknowledgement and recognition.
• Engages in moves management, documents rating, cultivation, and solicitation activities.
• Participates in multi-partner fundraising efforts to coordinate grant development services.
• Identifies potential funding sources through research and internal contacts.
• Develops proposals aligned with foundations' requirements and institutional missions.
• Ensures stewardship of grants with finance for transfer and reporting.
• Collaborates with staff to align fundraising strategies with organizational goals.
• Works with trustees and volunteers in foundation grant solicitation and related activities.
