Job summary

WGVU seeks a Development Officer, Foundation Relations in Grand Rapids, MI to oversee grants opportunities and align funding with technology, education, IDEA, programming, and community impact. You will liaise with the GVSU Office of Sponsored Programs, Institutional Advancement, and Grants Accounting to manage funded projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of grant writing experience, with strong communication and proficiency in Raiser's Edge/CRM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 3–5 years of grant writing experience in nonprofit, public broadcasting, or education.
• Experience researching, writing, and administering grants.
• Ability to take initiative and collaborate on proposals.
• Ability to design, develop, and implement funded projects.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with Raiser's Edge/CRM and other software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee grants administration, research funders, evaluate RFPs, track funded projects.
• Write, review, and edit proposals to foundations and funders.
• Identify and secure philanthropic gifts from foundations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal funders.
• Provide leadership for identifying and stewarding major foundation grant makers.
• Serve as liaison between WGVU and GVSU offices and accounting.
