Job summary

Victory Programs is seeking a skilled grant writer to advance foundation funding and strengthen philanthropic partnerships in Boston. You will research opportunities, craft proposals, and manage the full lifecycle—from prospecting to reporting—while collaborating with senior leadership and program teams.

The role emphasizes compelling narratives, rigorous compliance, and a proactive approach to diversifying funding streams to sustain programs for families and individuals served by Victory

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include communications, English, nonprofit management.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in foundation relations or grant writing.
  • Experience researching, writing, and managing foundation proposals.
  • Strong understanding of grant requirements, reporting processes, and compliance expectations.
  • Excellent written communication and ability to craft narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage funders and partners.
  • Experience with fundraising databases is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Research and pursue new foundation funding opportunities aligned with program priorities.
  • Develop, write, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports.
  • Manage a portfolio of funders and cultivate relationships through regular communication and stewardship.
  • Coordinate the full grant lifecycle from prospect research to renewal and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate grant records, proposal archives, and a grants calendar.
  • Monitor deliverables and compliance; prepare updates for funders.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to diversify Victory Programs’ funding base.
  • Support development planning and team fundraising strategies.
  • Represent Victory Programs professionally with funders and partners.
  • Support Victory Programs’ Standards of Excellence.
