The teaching assignment may be at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations. Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. College of the Canyons is seeking adjunct faculty members in the EOPS/CARE Department. When no review date is listed for an Adjunct Counselor position, the position is open until filled. Your application will not be considered until all required documents have been received.
Possession of an unexpired California Community College Counselor Credential in the appropriate area.
OR – A Master’s degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work or career development, or the equivalent.
AND – Have completed a minimum of nine semester units of college course work predominantly relating to ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language, social or economic disadvantages.
OR – Have completed six semester units or the equivalent of a college-level counseling practicum or counseling field-work courses in a community college EOPS program, or in a program dealing predominantly with ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language, social or economic disadvantages.
AND – In addition, an EOPS counselor hired after October 24, 1987, shall have two years of occupational experience in work relating to ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language, social or economic disadvantages.
Applicants who meet equivalent qualifications must also submit a Request for Equivalency Form.
